Carl Wuermer
(American 1900-1983)


Carl Wuermer, born in Germany, studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and at the Art Students League. He exhibited extensively, including at the Society of Independent Artists, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the National Academy of Design. He was a member of the Woodstock Art Association, Grand Central Art Galleries, Allied Artists of America, the Illinois Academy of Fine Art, and the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts. He was known for a technique quite similar to French pointillism.
