Carl Sprinchorn
(Swedish/American 1887–1971)


A student of Robert Henri for many years, Sprinchorn exhibited at numerous exhibitions, including the Armory Show in 1913, Society of Independent Artists, Pennsylvania Academy, Salons of America, Corcoran Gallery, Art Institute of Chicago, Whitney Museum of American Art, and Knoedler and Macbeth Galleries. His work is represented in a number of major American museums. During the 1920s, he painted extensively in Maine, in the area around Shin Pond.
