John Sharman
(American 1879-1971)


After studying with Frank Benson and Edmund Tarbell, Sharman worked with Abbott Thayer and Charles Woodbury. He was a member of numerous art clubs, and his work was exhibited in such museums as the Corcoran, PAFA, and the Art Institute of Chicago. He taught at many venues, including the Boston Museum School, RISD, Massachusetts College of Art, and Woodbury's summer school in Ogunquit.
