Augustus B. Koopman
(American 1869–1914)
Born in North Carolina, Koopman studied at the Pennsylvania
Academy and in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and the
Academie Julian. A member of the expatriate community
at Etaples in France, he exhibited widely at the Paris
Salons, PAFA, Art Institute of Chicago, National Academy,
1900 Paris Expo, Pan-American Expo in 1911, St. Louis
Expo in 1904, Corcoran Gallery, Boston Art Club, and Salons
of America, often winning prizes and medals. His paintings
are in the collections of museums in France and the United
States.
