Edgar Corbridge
(American 1901–1980)
A precisionist artist, Corbridge summered in Boothbay
Harbor, Maine in the 1930s and early forties, spending
his winters in Providence, Rhode Island. He began to paint
in Provincetown around that time. He was a member of numerous
art associations, including the American Watercolor Society,
New York Watercolor Club, Provincetown Art Association,
Providence Watercolor Club, and the North Shore Art Association.
He exhibited quite frequently, at venues such as the Portland
(Maine) Society of Art, Providence Art Club, Allied Artists
of Amerca, Provincetown Art Association, Rhode Island
School of Design, Worcester Museum of Art, Margaret Brown
Gallery in Boston, Baltimore Watercolor Club, Shore Galleries
in Boston and Provincetown, and many others.
